Dr. Nasser Saidi holds a PhD and a MA in Economics from the University of Rochester in the United States as well as a MSc from University College, London University and a BA from the American University of Beirut.
Dr. Saidi began his career as an academic but has since been an economic adviser and director to a number of central banks and financial institutions in the Arab countries, Europe and Central and Latin America
From 1993 until 2003 Dr. Saidi was Vice-Governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon and between 1998 and 2000, he also held the positions of Minister of Economy and Trade and Minister of Industry of Lebanon. He was a Member of the UN Committee for Development Policy (UNCDP) for two mandates between 2000 and 2006, and in 2007 served as the Data Protection Commissioner of the DIFC.
Dr. Saidi is currently the Chief Economist of the Dubai International Financial Centre Authority (DIFCA), an Executive Director of the Hawkamah-Institute for Corporate Governance at the DIFC and co-chairman of the MENA Corporate Governance Working Group. He joined Future Pipe in February 2008 as a Non-Executive director and also serves on the Audit Committee.
