Future Pipe Industries B.V. and Shippipe to partner in the German Marine Market
4th November 2009
Dubai - Future Pipe Industries B.V. (FPI) of The Netherlands and Shippipe from Germany have announced that they have entered into an agreement to work together on supplying Glass Fiber Reinforced Epoxy Pipe Systems (GRE) to the German marine market.
A dedicated GRE prefabrication unit will be set up in Shippipe’s factory in Bremen, Germany. The establishment of this facility, combined with the support provided by Shippipe, will allow FPI to further enhance its services, flexibility and competitive position in serving customers in the marine sector in this region.
"We are pleased to have come to this co-operation with FPI," says Dirk Windmöller, Shippipe’s Managing Director. He added: "As sustainability is key in shipbuilding nowadays, GRE is the product of choice for ship owners. Also, because of the fact that GRE is a maintenance free product, significant lower through life costs will be achieved."
"I couldn’t agree more with Dirk Windmöller", says Marc Groenewoud, Unit Manager Shipbuilding of FPI. “Shippipe is a well known and respected contractor in the German marine market. Combining FPI’s product and system knowledge with Shippipe’s installation skills is a true win-win situation for both companies as well as for our customers."
