16th December 2009
Dubai - Dubai based Future Pipe Industries Group (FPI), the leading global manufacturer of large-diameter fiberglass pipe systems, has announced that it has won projects worth over USD125 million in the United Arab Emirates alone, during the fourth quarter of this year.
The projects won by the Group are all for applications in the water industry including pipe systems for sea water, utility water and fire water lines. End users for these applications in the UAE are Takreer and ADNOC in Abu Dhabi and the Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA).
Headquartered in Dubai, FPI’s operations include 10 factories in the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Lebanon, Egypt, The Netherlands and the USA and more than 20 sales offices worldwide.
Rami Makhzoumi, President and CEO for Future Pipe Industries Group said: "We are strongly encouraged by the fact that we have been able to secure these important orders in our home market of the United Arab Emirates in what has been a challenging year for most, and we hope that this is a strong indicator for sustained improvement in market conditions going forward."
He added: "Water distribution has been a very important market segment for us at FPI for a number of years now especially in the GCC region, and this is mainly fuelled by population growth in the region and urbanization combined with significant investments in infrastructure."
