    • Gulf Eternit Industries in Dubai expands production lines

      10th January 2010

Dubai - Dubai based Gulf Eternit Industries (GEI), part of Future Pipe Industries Group (FPI), the leading global manufacturer of large-diameter fiberglass pipe systems, has announced that it has successfully commissioned a new high density polyethylene pipe manufacturing machine.

With the addition of this new machine, GEI now has four production lines in operation, manufacturing pipes from 20mm to 630mm in diameter for a variety of applications and market sectors.

High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipes can be used in a wide range of applications including water main schemes, potable water house connections, sprinkler and drip irrigation systems, drainage systems, laboratories, industrial process lines, agricultural piping, irrigation and many other public utilities.

The machine commissioned in Dubai will produce HDPE pipes up to 630mm in diameter and up to a capacity of 1000 kilograms per hour. This is a state of the art production line that combines the latest technologies in German Polyethylene pipe manufacturing with features such as a start-up winch and an ultrasonic thickness measuring device.

Polyethylene is a versatile material that has outstanding mechanical and chemical properties. It is obtained by the polymerization of ethylene gas in varying densities ranging between 0.910 to 0.965 gr/cc.
