Site Services

Text size: a a a

Future Pipe Industries, Inc. has a well staffed Site Services department responsible for the site-related services on all contracts awarded to the company. The scope of these services can vary from the supply of a qualified site crew to perform actual jointing of our pipe on the job site, to providing a qualified site Representative(s) to monitor pipe handling and installation by the Contractor on a full time or part time basis.

  • Review FPI’s Handling and Installation instructions with the Contractor and/or the Engineer/ Owner prior to the start of the installation
  • Where possible for new Contractors, he will visit the job site at the time the first delivery of pipe is made and will assist the Contractor in inspecting and off-loading the pipe and fittings. If there is any damage during transport, or off-loading, he will inspect the damaged products and make arrangements for their repair or replacement. He will also advise the contractor on proper handling and storage practices on site.
  • For buried installation, where possible, he will visit the job site at the beginning of pipe installation to observe trench excavations, handling and pipe laying practices on site. He will discuss these practices with the contractor and make recommendations where deemed necessary to improve, alter or discontinue the installation practice observed on site.
  • To make periodic visits to the job site throughout the duration of pipe installation to advise the contractor on the proper and applicable handling, storage, bedding, laying, jointing, backfilling and site testing procedures necessary to achieve a satisfactory pipe installation. These procedures are detailed in the Installation instructions for each product supplied. On certain projects and if required by the Contractor, FPI can provide a full-time site Representative for the duration of the pipe installation.
  • It is the responsibility of the Contractor to make available this Installation manual to his crews, and to ensure that they are familiar with it, and understand the procedures described therein.

For all of FPI’s products, it is the responsibility of the Contractor to strictly follow and implement the Handling and Installation procedures published in FPI’s Handling and Installation manuals, as well as any additional advice or recommendations given by our field Representative on the job site.

Future Pipe Industries, Inc. shall not be liable for any installation related failures arising from failure of the Contractor to follow and implement our written installation instructions and any additional advice or recommendation made by our site Representative. All Site Service rates (if any) must be agreed upon in writing with the FPI Sales Department in advance.
