SCOPE OF SYSTEM DESIGN
The basic scope for the analysis of all FRP/GRE/FRV systems is similar:
I.Flow analysis both steady-state and transient (if required).
II. Full stress analysis both static and dynamic for the complete system. Taken into account in the analysis are:
- Temperature effects
- Pressure effects
- Grade level elevations
- Special (non-standard) bends at crossings with other lines and/or roads.
- Loads on the anchors where the Fiberglass part connects to steel sections.
III. In an iterative process a support system will be designed. Support locations and functions will be selected and specified.
The standard support package provided consists of conceptual support drawings of standard supports and specials with principal dimensions indicated. Detailed support drawings may also generated.
IV. Before commissioning an on-site check should be executed by the Owner's Engineers to compare "as-built" versus "as-designed" support systems.
