Fibermar ™ piping is Glassfiber reinforced epoxy (GRE )pipe systems specially developed for applications onboard ships. The design of this piping system is in full accordance with IMO Resolution A. 753 (18) - "Guideline for the application of plastic pipes on ships".
Corrosion is a major problem with traditional steel pipe systems onboard ships which end up costing more than three times the initial investment due to the replacement and extra dry dock time over the life-time of the ship. Fibermar GRE pipe systems are corrosion free and will last the lifetime of the ship with little or no maintenance.
CONDUCTIVE PIPING
Where piping crosses hazardous areas or when piping is transporting non conductive fluids such as kerosene or gasoline Fibermar CMT conductive pipe is available to eliminate the problems of static electricity build up.
APPLICATIONS
- Inert gas lines & effluent
- Sea water bilge & ballast systems

PRODUCT RANGE
Fibermar systems are available in the series EMT (epoxy marine tensile resistant) and CMT (conductive marine tensile resistant) . Diameters 1" through 36" mm are included in the type approvals.
FIRE PERFORMANCE
Fibermar pipe systems has passed various fire tests successfully to ensure safety onboard ships. According to IMO Resolution A.753 (18) Fibermar pipe systems can be used where 'L3' or '0' is indicated in the fire endurance requirements matrix. For areas where low flame spread is required Fibermar has been tested in accordance with ASTM D 635. When the pipe system in these areas have to comply to IMO Resolution A.653 (16) Fibermar EMT - FR* and Fibermar CMT - FR are available. The Fibermar FR system has an additional fire barrier to protect the pipe system under severe fire conditions.
