Future Pipe inaugurates Gulfport, MS plant
GULFPORT March 14, 2006
The Future Pipe Group today officially inaugurated its brand new 150,000-square-foot plant in Bernard Bayou Industrial Complex in Gulfport, MS in a gala event attended by Mississippi’s Governor Hailey Barbour, and other state and local officials and dignitaries.
Guest speakers at the event included Mr. William Martin; Harrison County’s Supervisor, Mr. Brent Warr, Mayor of Gulfport and the Future Pipe Group’s Chairman Mr. Fouad Makhzoumi.
In his key note address, Governor Haley Barbour extended a welcome on behalf of Mississippi. He praised the plant leadership for its visionary outlook and cutting edge production facilities.
"This is about technology. This is about the world market place that we live in. This is about Mississippi's ability to successfully compete in that world market place," said Governor Barbour.
The Plant’s official opening was to take place in September of 2005, but was delayed for 5 months due to the damage caused by Hurricane Katrina which hit Mississippi’s Gulf Coast on August 29, 2005.
